Richard Sherman is one of my favorite Seahawks. I say one of because I could never pick a favorite! He’s the best cornerback in the NFL and was named one of Time magazines 100 Most Influential People. On the way up from Compton to the Seahawks, Richard Sherman not only achieved both an athletic and academic scholarship to Stanford, he also helped his fellow teammates pursue college. “Athletics played a large role in my High School career, but I am most proud of my 4.2 grade point average and the hours put in with my teammates to help them get into college.”
As a fifth round draft pick, Richard had a lot to prove and he did. On and off the field, with his play, his enthusiasm and his philanthropy. He’s been judged by many, mostly for one amazing post game interview that occurred right after making the biggest play of his career and earning the Seahawks a trip to the Super Bowl. Seahawks fans love Richard Sherman for what he does on and off the field. His passion is his foundation, Blanket Coverage, which gives back to the children in the community to provide all the necessary tools to get an education. “Not a day goes by where I don’t think of where I come from and where I could be right now if not for the support given to me.” – Richard Sherman
